As an artist, most of my work is in the form of artist books. Books are intimate pieces that can be held close to the body. They can be closed and opened, they can reveal secrets or hide them inside.
My art reflects my place as a member of a large family – sister, daughter, mother, and wife. Motherhood is a big part of my work, especially the significance of having children with blended ethnic backgrounds.
I feel as though I don’t have a choice whether to make art, I am compelled to do it.
